1997 Firebird Trans Am Question

Im new here, forgive me if this is a dumb question.

I am looking at a 1997 Firebird at a local car lot. The owner runs a lot of V8 camaros and firebirds through this lot. This particualr one is loaded. He keeps telling me it is a "P" code and that includes a special cam and reared among other things. When I test drove it I found the original window sticker in the glove box so I made a copy of it. In the options section the only special powertrain item I find is this: Rear Performance Axel, 3.23 Ratio

Anyone have any idea about this "P code? Would the VIN give me any more info? I have a copy of that as well.

Thanks.

That's all I could figure out.
The guy talked like it was a bigger deal than that (like computer and cam mods).

Does not matter now. I bought it last week. A blast to drive.
