Re: 1992 camry le no spark
Open this link to your factory service manual. Then open the manual listed at the top for 92-96 Camrys. The file should download to your temp files. In the column find a file labeled ig.pdf for your ignition system. Now scroll to page IG-26. Follow the troubleshooting chart for the "Spark Test" procedures. Details are in the following pages. You should come across the cause of your problem. You'll have to have the Adobe program for this to work.
Other major players would be the igniter and the ECM. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=497839

Re: 1992 camry le no spark
Towards the bottom of the checklist it says to test the IGT signal from the ECM. That's one test you can do yourself. It says to go to the EG file so you'll have to open the eg1.pdf file for the how to.
Though not absolutely conclusive, the fact you're not seeing a check engine light (I assume) indicates all is ok with the ECM. In any case, I would try reading the codes using the procedure outlined in the eg1.pdf file. It involves jumpering contacts on the diagnostic connector either under the dash or in the engine compartment. The only other way to test the ECM is to have a shop or your dealer connect a OBDI scanner and run it through it's paces. Trouble is OBDI scanners are getting scarce. If it comes to it, you can get ECMs cheaper than $400. There's several sources on the internet plus I'm sure there's plenty of them in junk yards. Just have to make sure you get the identicle part number ECM.
