2002 Yukon Doesn't Want to Start, Worse Gas Mileage Ever

I have a 2002 Yukon SLT. Very recently, it takes several seconds for it to crank. When you turn the key, it turns over and over before it finally catches. Also, in the last month or two, my gas mileage has decreased dramatically. I filled up the other day and only got 253 miles out of that tank of gas. That is way down from what I used to get. I've had my truck forever and I LOVE IT. Need some advice!!

A fuel pressure test should be done to see if the fuel pressure regulator is leaking.

When the leak, the engine can become flooded and hard to start. Fuel mileage will also suffer.

You should also post how many miles you have on this Yukon.

I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and it solved the same problem with mine. I suggest you replace the regulator with a genuine GM part. I tried (2) non-GM regulators and one seemd to have no effect at all and the other caused the fuel rails to vibrate. It is very simple to replace. Good Luck.
