New car: Avensis v.s. Verso

Hi,

I have to choose a new company car soon. I am looking for a family car which has enough space to transport large things (boxes, etc.) from time to time. I narrowed my choices down to the 1.8 Avensis Wagon and the 1.8 Verso.
They are similar in most respects, although I like the way that the Avensis looks.
What I am concerned about is that the Avensis does not seem to be very popular, is there a reason for this?
Also, if I decide to go for a wagon, are there any other good wagons (not neccessarily Toyota) that you would recommend?

Any comments about the 2 cars would be appreciated.
