lowering

what can i do to lower my 88 1500? other than buying a lowering kit for 700.00 looking for like 4front 6rear to 5 front 7 rear

If your looking to do a 4/6 drop or more the safe way your only option is to buy spindles & coils for the front and a flip/notch kit or drop leafs & hangers & shackles for the rear. I won't even elaborate on dropping your truck the cheap way (hacking) because your ride will be so terrible you'd hate driving the truck. If you're on a budget try shopping around for the best deals and buy your front stuff first and then buy your rear stuff. You'll still be looking at spending at least $600.00 with shocks. Another option would be buying used. I've seen plenty of deals on used drop parts on several Chevy truck websites and a few on Craigslist but you have to jump on those deals as soon as you see them because everyone plus their mother are always on the look for great buys on drop parts for Chevy's. Whichever you decide, make sure you do your homework and know exactly what it is you're buying.
