Re: Popping/Cracking Noise..
I have a 97' GTP with the same issue....I had a friend look at it in which it was the front left wheel and we found it to be a stabalizer in front of the tie rod on the suspension....he didnt know what it was called so i cant help you there but my car seems to be ok with it...i believe the stabalizer part fell through the medal that held it and now just makes the popping noise....so as far as my car went it was ok but i would still have it checked out if it continues to get worse

Re: Popping/Cracking Noise..
Most popping/cracking noises in Grand Prix's while driving straight can be traced to one of three areas.
1-hub bearings 2-front control arm bushings 3-broken/cracked sway bar, bushings or end links If the noise is only heard while turning the wheel, you can add front strut mounts/bearings to the list.
