Can somebody tell me again what the difference between b16a1 first gen, b16a2 second gen etc. Thanks

depends which b16a2 your talking about, the jdm has 170hp and the usdm has 160hp. the jdm a2 has .2 comp higher.

the b16a1 is obd0
usdm b16a2 is obd 2
jdm b16a2 is obd 1

Ideally, which is better and newer with these engines? Does anybody know if when you get a motor from a like a nippon or similar company do they come rebuilt, i.e bearings, gaskets etc.? :smoker2: And what is OBD

also, B16a1's came with cable trannies and B16a2's came with hydrolic trannies.

i think the jdm b16a2 is the best out of all the b16s, its not the newest but i think its the best. the usdm b16a2 is the newest. and no these engine distrubutors dont rebuild the engines, it comes as it was shipped from japan. i think they do a leakdown test on teh engine, and it usually comes witha start up guarantee, but that doesnt mean the condition of hte engine is good, it may start up but run like shit.

obd is onboard diagnostics, its the computer system that runs the engine. obd 2 is the newest, obd 1 is next, obd 0 is the oldest. obd 2 has alot more sensors than obd 1 and 0.

i thought the jdm a2s torque was only 113

Nah its 116 lbs. B16a is actually a better motor. The head flows much better than the rest of the b16s.
