No start problem

I have a 2003 Caravan that was working just fine and now ill not turn over. If you bypass the relay, it iwll turn over, but there is no fire, etc. All fuses are good, all relays are good, and the neutral safety switch is good. I have power to all the relays, etc... but no start.

I have heard that the alarm system will cause this by disabling everthing. Is this true, and how do you reset it? I don't think this thing even has an alarm system on it. My brother's van is the same year so we decided to swap the ECM, relays, and even the whole fuse panel, but that did not even work. Any ideas???? You know the dealer is going to say bend over sir, it's gonna cost ya on this one!!!!

And they'll do it with a grin...

Does the starter relay click? Feel it. Probably not. Are you getting 12vdc at contact 86 at the starter relay? This is power from the ignition switch to the starter relay coil. If that's there then I would bet the PCM isn't supplying the ground to the relay coil. You can check the connections and make sure you have continuity on that wire. The alarm system? Could be the root cause but, my schematics don't show how it ties in. Reset it? Could try disconnecting the battery. Have you checked for error codes? Probably gone since you disconnected the PCM. Still worth a try. What maintenance was done recently?

Are you bypassing the relay by jumpering contacts 30 and 87 at the relay socket or are you connecting the battery straight to the starter?

Re: No start problem

Yep, the relay is clicking, andwe are geting power to 86 at the starter relay. You can jumper 87 and 30 and starter will crank, but the van will not fire. As I said before, my brother has the same year van and we switched the PCM, but it did not do any good. As you said on the ground, I cannot get a ground at the relay, which leads me to believe maybe there is also a wire loom problem. Crysler was bad about running those under the battery.
