won't start without giving it gas

When I start my car I need to keep my foot on the gas for a few seconds otherwise it won’t start. Once started everything is fine; a bit of a rough idle but nothing major. This will happen hot or cold or anytime the engine is shut down for about 30 seconds. Fuel was leaking below the pressure regulator so I put a new one in. Fuel filter has been changed and fuel pressure is 42-44 psi. 3.1L spec is 41-47. I’m currently running with injector cleaner hoping to clean those out but it doesn’t seem to be helping. Any other ideas?

Had the same issue with my '98 a few years back. After wasting a lot of time, effort, and $$ it turned out to be my first hunch - the Idle Air Speed motor. Good luck.

You the MAN. Shaft on the IAC was disconnected from the servo. Looks like the threads stripped. Gas savings alone will pay for this part in no time. Thanks.
