What are symptoms related to these codes?

Re: 1997 Blazer check engine codes

With those codes, I'd guess the symtoms are:

The transmission is in limp mode. (meaning that it shifts okay to start, but then doesn't downshift, giving you second or third gear starts, sluggish acceleration that feels as though the tranny is slipping, possible loss of overdrive)

Possible ocassional stalling.

Trouble starting at times.

Irratic dash light/ instrument panel gauge operation.

Based on your preliminary description, I'd *guess* that it is the ignition switch. Post back more detail or if you are experiencing the symtoms above, and I'll send you some info.

Re: 1997 Blazer check engine codes

some times it all works

check engine off and on but mostly on

it has been in fail safe mode for the most part no 1st gear no overdrive

the key will come out when it gets stuck if i play with it

i also had a dead battery yesterday no known reason why

Re: 1997 Blazer check engine codes

Those p07** codes are all transmission codes. I'd look at the wiring harness and check for corrosion or being unplugged (or loose). Has there been a trans service done lately? If it's come and go type of thing, then something is loose electrically IMO. Just for sh*ts and g*ggles, check your fuses...
