90 MGM 5.0 transmission rebuild at home.

I bought this two years ago. From the frame to the interior the car is in excellent condition. I lost the overdrive one year ago. I know the band must be replaced. For the last three months she starts out weak. ( hesitation in forward ) I know I need to replace the torque converter. Two quarts of Lucas oil in fluid change last month helped a little. Now over the last week it takes 20 seconds for reverse to engage from park and up to 45 seconds after a good run. An AAMCO rebuild costs from 1800-2000 dollars. I am a Heavy Equipment Master Mechanic and have rebuilt almost everthing in all weather conditions in the field. Can anyone recommend the best shop manual and internal parts source for the transmission. Maybe I sound cheap but I don't mind getting dirty. I do understand that I may need special tools and in the past have made my own.
