Interior rear view mirror/broken mount

Has anyone had the interior rear view mirror start to droop and not stay in position?
My wife’s TB has a drooping mirror. Upon inspection I noticed that the mirror is held in place by a metal ring providing tension on 8 or so plastic tabs. This is directly on the back of the mirror. It appears that the plastic tabs have broken in a number of places. It seems like a poor design and pretty fragile.
This is the Electronic mirror with on star, temp and compass with auto dimming so I am hoping that there is a fix rather than replacing. If it has to be replaced, I hope the new design is better than the old on...
