check engine code 212
Hi, I am working on a 1993 taurus gl 3.0 it seems to run fine but check engine light is on so used a code reader and get a code 212 "ignition module circuit failure-spout circuit grounded " any advice as what to check? I didnt see any damaged or shorted wires at the spout or distributer thanks.

According to the code, this could also be due to an issue with the IDM line. Inspect wire at terminal #3 (white/pink) of the Ignition Module at the distributor and wire #4 (white/pink) at connector C191 at the PCM. There also used to be ignition module testers at some of the chain auto parts stores. I never really heard many favorable reviews of the testers, but you may want to see if there is one near you that could test your ignition module. If it shows and issue with the SPOUT or IDM, that may be enough indications to warrant replacing the ignition module.
