camaro wont start

I have a 1991 camaro rs with the 3.1 I was driving it and when I would come to a stop it would die then I would put it in park and start it back up well It wont start back up any one know what the problem is thank

I have a few questions that might help get you some answers.

1) when you turn the key, does it try and crank or is it completely silent(engines tries but does but does not start/ hear the fuel pump running????)

2) can you get lights working or other electrical components?
