PL, Keyless Entry Problem 96 Blazer

My PL and Keyless quit working. Any relays, fuses etc I need to check for and will I have to re-program the keyless remotes? Its first started they would work only after the vehicle was running for about 10-15 minutes and then they just quit on me.

So the locks don't work when you manually press the button on the door? If thats the case, then you'll have to find what is going on with the locks there first. Could be a open switch button causing intermittent loss of power. The master, or main switch can be a problem sometimes.

No,

At first when the car had sat awhile the key pad nor the lock buttons would work at all. Once the vehicle had ran say 15 minutes it would work (Wierd)

Well now the key pad is not working, the door lock buttons aren't working either. I am not sure what the problem is. I have not checked any fuses or relays yet. I have not had the time. I was hoping someone here would point me in the right direction with where and what to look for.

Thanks

Re: PL, Keyless Entry Problem 96 Blazer

Is it a factory keyless or aftermarket? I have seen many times where an aftermarket system was put on and the "lock/unlock" wire was spliced into the factory power lock wire without a relay. End result, blown fuse every couple of days. It is possible that your fuse didn't fully blow and just "split" so sometimes it works, sometimes not. Just depends on how it's sitting that time of day. It's at lease worth a shot to check it out.

Does everything still come back after 15 minutes of driving like you state?

On my 96 blazer, there is a control box that houses the relays etc for the keyless/power lock system. The box is attached the the black underdash panel on the drivers side to the left. When you press the lock button on the door panel, you should be able to hear the relays clicking in the box. I sourced the lock/unlock relay trigger wires for my aftermarket remotestart/alarm there at its harness.

It's a shot in the dark, but if you could get a cheap used one to replace it (like a pull your part junkyard), it might be your fix. Good luck!
