changing gear shift knob

Hello? anyone out there....?
I would love to know how to remove my gear shift knob.
I've got a new one from a friend and want to remove my stock knob any idea?

Don't know if you already figured it out but you pull down on the collar at the top of the boot until it unclips and then just unscrew the original knob. GL
