New intake manifold gaskets didn't fix it.
Hello all, I have a 1991 caprice classic 305 with coolant in the oil system. I have already changed the intake manifold gaskets, gunked the oil system (minus oil pan removal) and changed the oil (2x). I started the vehicle again on friday and there is coolant leaking from the exhaust, and I still have that capuccino looking oil. I have 159,988 mi. on the car, and getting rid of it is NOT an option. Please give me some detailed advice/instructions on what to do next. I am a moderate do-it-yerselfer, so I can do just about anything with proper instruction, thanks in advance.

Re: New intake manifold gaskets didn't fix it.
Well, to get all the "cappucino" out of the oil you have to change it more than twice if it was bad enough. I've seen it contaminated badly enough where it took 6 full oil and filter changes before the oil back 100% back to normal. You have to remember, the contaminated oil is all throughout the engine so each time you put fresh oil in and start it, it get's re-contaminated with the residual "cappucino" in all the engine's parts. As far as the coolant being in the exhaust, are you sure it's not just condensation in the exhaust system?

Re: New intake manifold gaskets didn't fix it.
The "cappucino" is coolant which is highly damaging to bearing surfaces. You will need to flush out the engine. What I would do is a 20% diesel 80% oil mixture for one oil change - but DO NOT drive the car like this. Put in this mixture, idle the engine until its warm, then change the oil again using normal oil. Change the filter both times, as well.
Before you do this however, your problem was likely never the intake gaskets to begin with. It sounds more like a problem with a warped/cracked head (and subsequent gasket failure). Get that checked out FIRST before anything else.
