Yay, New Car!

Alright, so it's not new. Last weekend I bought a 1987 Chrysler LeBaron Premium. It's a parts car for the GTC. It has a perfect quarter panel and rocker that I can use to fix the GTC. It also has a nice gray interior that will be perfect. I had BeZerK pick it up for me from Boise. I'll let him post the adventure. Anyhow, her are some pics:

Re: Yay, New Car!

^^^ Not exactly a project, more like tear down!

So the story behind this car is in fact an interisting one. After finding my way to the middle of no where, just behind the land fill, I find the car sitting in the middle of a field. When I pulled up to it it seamed like an easy pull. After inspecting the front end I go around back and find that the drivers side rear tire was gone, oh and 2 of 5 studs were MIA. I pulled the spare out and put it on only to find out that 3 of the remaining studs were stripped! Hmmm..... Only choice was to force the thing on, so I did and put the tire on with only 2 bolts. We pushed it out and had no choice but to pull it from the rear beause of the 2 bolts. We had a car dolly so 2 wheels would be on the ground at all times. When heading back into town we find out that the car starts swaying at about 45. We had to pull the car the other way... When we got into town we got studs and went to a tire palce and had them cut off the old stripped stud. Oh and I found a black widdow in the drum. That was fun... It mad a popping sound. Anyways a 10 hour drive turned into a 14 hour drive. It was fun!

Re: Yay, New Car!

LOL, yeah, that's the log intake. They stopped using after 1987. It's junk. I won't even bother trying to sell it to someone else. I can't wait to get it hear and start tearing it apart. Hell, I think I'll be able to make some money on this car.

Re: Yay, New Car!

It looks like it had some decent 6X9s in the back there sell em' or slap em' on the GTC? Im digging the half-engine. Its the new way to save gas, people are getting very desperate.

That thing seems like more trouble than its worth :P

Re: Yay, New Car!

The speakers are trashed. I have new ones anyhow ready to go in the GTC. How is this more trouble that it's worth? I saved a ton of money on the parts I need to fix up the GTC by buying this entire car.

It's not a project car, it's a parts car. Once I'm done cannibalizing it, off to the crusher.

Re: Yay, New Car!

The interior looks pretty damn good I must say. Looks like it will compliment your GTC pretty well.

Well, seeing that it's a parts car, I'd say treat that car like a hooker: Get what you need, and dump the bitch as soon as you can...

Re: Yay, New Car!

Yep, she was cheap too. Only $250!

I'm also taking out anything I think I can sell or use. Try and break even or possibly make some money. The digital guage cluster it worth about $80 by itself. Who know what I can get for the engine and the trans. Plus I can sell my goat shit brown interior. Hopefully I'll get the body work done this year before the body cancer gets too bad.

Re: Yay, New Car!

haha i meant the hassle to get the damn thing there seemed like an awful lot of trouble. But I do see what you mean about making the GTC ungoatshitified.

Re: Yay, New Car!

Now I'm no mechanic, BUT...something MAY be wrong with your engine. Also the whole "weight distribution by putting part of engine in trunk" thing the previous owner was going for...yeah that's just not working out. I'm not sayin...I'm just sayin...

Lol j/p man looks like a nice parts car

LOL, I'll NEVER sell. However, I'll probably be suckered in to buying another GTC of someone, but only if it's cherry. I don't want to do this shit again.

Oh, yeah. Hopefully by the end of the summer it will have gray interior, straight body, and red paint.

Yeah, I don't think they took compression into account.
