Transmission Filter

I30 Transmission filter has one unique nut holding it in [the rest are bolts and easily come out with the 10mm socket. Question is how do you get that nut loose? It just spins and spins. Can't see the top of the bolt head anywhere deep into the tranny. Any suggestions out there in Infiniti land. BTW - love the I30 - good running car, 1999 - 117K miles. Thanks

Did you ever find an answer to this problem of the spinning nut on the transmission filter? I'm having the same problem myself.

Re: Transmission Filter

Why are you tying to change it? It is a metal screen, not a filter and does'nt need to be changed.

But to answer your question, you have to drop the valve body to get to the bolt on top.
