ABS and Check Tire Pressure Lights on

I have a 1997 Grand Prix. The ABS and Check Tire Pressure lights are both on and the Traction Control light is also on. Tire pressure is good. No problem braking. What could be causing this? Thanks.

Re: ABS and Check Tire Pressue Lights on

You probably have a wheel hub/speed sensor going bad, or the wiring to the speed sensor is corroding. The entire hub/sensor would have to be replaced if it's a bad wheel hub as these are not serviceable and come new and sealed as one unit. A good idea would to find an ABS capable scanner to pinpoint the wheel that's tripping your ABS light. If you need to replace the hub, don't use the cheap aftermarket Chinese crap, it'll just give you more heartche/trouble..

Re: ABS and Check Tire Pressue Lights on

That makes sense. Thanks for the advice. The Advance Auto Parts website (www.partsamerica.com) sells a wheel speed sensor:

http://www.partsamerica.com/productd...tNumber=DR1023

I did just think that it only came on yesterday after it rained really hard. I will clean the contacts on the sensor connection and see if that helps.

Re: ABS and Check Tire Pressue Lights on

If you need to replace your hub. An AC/Delco or Timken replacement would be your best bang for your buck.

Re: ABS and Check Tire Pressue Lights on

So even though Advance offers the speed sensor as a replacement part, I will still have to replace the entire hub?

Re: ABS and Check Tire Pressue Lights on

That's correct, the speed sensor is connected to the hub as one unit. Unless you have wires that are bad/corroded leading to the hub, those can be serviced but if you have a bad sensor/hub, it has to be replaced as a unit.

Re: ABS and Check Tire Pressue Lights on

How do I determine which wheel speed sensor/wheel hub is causing the problem, without paying the dealer a fortune to test?

Thanks

These 3 lights have been coming on too. The always come on when the road is wet and they also don't come on until I am driving for 15 minutes. Is this probally the same above problems?

Sorry but this is an old thread so it has been closed. Just start a new thread addressing your problem following the guidelines below and I'm quite sure you'll get help.

Also, be sure to post the year and model Grand Prix which I am assuming is a '97 model since you have the low tire pressure system.
