This is where the PCV valve on the 2000 cougar is located.

I'm making this thread for the sake of others who are in the same situation that I was in. In hope that the Big Search Engines out there that most people use will pick up this post. I've been looking everywhere on the net for answers to where the damn PCV valve location is on the 2000 mercury cougar. Nobody seems to know and just gives general answers to where they think it could be, like; on a valve cover or to follow the intake lines. Not even close. But I took the steps into discovering it. I bought a PCV valve from Autozone for about 5 dollars and started taking things apart in my car. For those in need of this information, (the 1999-2001 years could also apply to this info) here is where it is:

The location of the 2000 Cougar PCV valve is under the Throttle Control, near where the intake air tube meets the Intake manifold, on the side is where the throttle control is (you can control the engine rev with this). Under it is where you will find three tubes that meet together. The piece that conntects these three tubes is the PCV valve. Hope that helps in the maintenance of this fragile car. Just minor improvements when replacing it, but its deffinetly worth it. Good luck.

I may post pics later...

Re: This is where the PCV valve on the 2000 cougar is located.

I provided a picture below.......

Note: that this pic was taken after I replaced the PCV valve. The original was coated all black and did not have any shiney parts like the one you will get at a store.

The picture was taken to the side of the engine on the drivers side facing the passengers side.

Do you see it? Its outlined in white.
