89 Accord-High pressure fuel line

Do I need to drop the fuel tank in order to change the high pressure fuel line on 89 Accord (looks like the replace line goes into the top of the gas tank. Lid inside of trunk does not allow access to the fuel line

Re: 89 Accord-High pressure fuel line

Sadly yes you will. It isn't all that hard to drop the tank. First drain fuel pressure. Then you can unhook the wires and feed them through the access panel hole. Then unhook the 2 short rubber lines (caution: the bottom will spill some fuel Please no sparks or flames). Now put a floor jack under you tank being careful not to dent the tank. Then pull the bolts that hold the strap to the chassis. I pulled all but one. I did not feel like dropping the exhaust so I just bent the passenger side strap down. Next wiggle the tank and lower the jack and the tank will come out. Trust me I just had to replace a fuel pump and all the lines.
