Rocker Panels?
I am doing some work patching rocker panels and notice there are what looks like drain holes inside the cavity of the rocker panel. My question where does water drain into the rocker panel and how does it escape from inside the rocker panels? I don't see drain hole underneath.
I am wondering why rocker panels even allow water inside of them, seems like a recipe for rusting out. Thanks Mark |

Re: Rocker Panels?
The rocker panels have ridges on the inside edges towards the exhaust.
I found this out by shooting oil in there from the sill plate and that is where it always drain back out.

Re: Rocker Panels?
Mark, I have been doing that very thing on my 1999 1.0!
Been using spray lithium grease. Shooting the stuff in evey opening in the rocker panels and front frame. So far the front hasn't broken off! We have to try something to keep rust from being a problem later on. At $4 dollars a gallon I'm lovin' my Metro more every day. Sometimes I even think I may have to get Lo-Jack! (hah) DangerDUde |
