Wire colors to Speedometer/Odometer?
I'm in need of the wire colors to the speedometer/odometer on a 95 vin w (CPI) S-10. The speedometer/odometer quit working. No codes, i have a scan tool, it reads the speed sensor pulse and give me mph readings. Ive had the gauge panel out and checked the connections on printed circuit board, and all seem to be fine. When turning the key, the speedometer gets power, as the needle moves off the resting peg to the 0 point.
Also, how to test that im getting pulse signal to the gauge panel connector would be a great help to. Should this show a scaling voltage as speed increases? Thanks. |

Re: Wire colors to Speedometer/Odometer?
First thing Check transmission/4W fuse.
Also all fuses. Auto zone site may have the wiring diagrams. Does the scan tool read any MPH and RPM? MT

Re: Wire colors to Speedometer/Odometer?
Yeah, tach still works and the scan tool also shows rpm readingsin addition to mph readings. I forgot to mention that the transmission shifts correctly, and it drives fine. All fuses are ok.

Re: Wire colors to Speedometer/Odometer?
The PCM C-4 wire dark green feeds mph signal to dash.
The dash pin is no 10 dark green. You might check for a signal on pcm pin C-4 or dash pin 10. Not sure if it is a ac signal or modjulated singal. But try for a reading/signal on the dark green wire. Good Luck MT
