04 Tracker ZR2 Ticking at idle?

I have a 2004 Tracker ZR2 with the 2.5L v6 and only 48,000 kms. Recently I have noticed that when it is in park or stopped while driving, I can here a ticking noise coming from the engine compartment. It only does it at idle and as soon as you push on the gas the noise disappears. It almost sounds like a noisy lifter. Could it be that, or would it be a pulley or something? I don't know much about the 2.5 engines. I thought I read something somewhere about the oil pump being gear driven??? Would that be making the ticking? Any help would be appreciated.
