|
just bought a 96 ford windstar and replaced a moduale
i just bought a 96 ford windstar mini van. It has sat for a couple years. I just replaced the module. It cranks but wont fire. It might have bad gas in it. i hope its not the coil pack. Can anyone help me please.

what module are you talking about? I would first consider the battery b/4 anything else especially if you say it's been sitting for 2 yrs.

Are you getting fuel to the fuel rail? It's a bit of work, but I would probably drop the tank and swab it out ... replace the inlet sock on the fuel pump ... and replace any fuel filter in the gas line. Then I would remove all injectors and aerosol-spray-clean the inlets and outlets on each one.
I would pull all the plugs for a look-see ... just to see if they are fouled or whatever. Then check to see if you are getting spark. Of course, you want to pull any codes that may exist. I don't know how to do it on your model ... but it can't be too hard to do. Make sure you have good clean oil in the engine before you are successful in starting 'r up. |
