How much did you trim your arb.
I just got 32 inch mud tires and I will need to trim my arb by the looks of it. I have a 3 inch lift but rubbing looks unavoidable. Has anyone here done it and do you have any pics of exactly how much you took off.

Ivan,
I can't remember where but I think someone took off 1/2" at the top and tapereed it down to 1" removed at the bottom, then folded the lip over and rewelded it.

I thought they were only trimming for 33's? Sadly, I haven't stuffed a front wheel yet with my 32" M/T's, but it looks like there should be plenty of room there.

yeah someone on xoc sent me an image that looks like they removed about that much from the corners. Unfortunatley it doesn't look like it is gonna be enough on my tires. I will take some pics so yall can see.

i am running 32x11.5 bfg mt's and i haven't had any problems with rubbing on the arb. i don't have a lift either. to be honest i am still running the stock t-bars with the weight of a winch too.

You might want to crank your torsion bars a bit. Id replace them too if you are running an ARB. AAL's would help too on the rear end.

Are you still running the stock rims or did you get rims with the new tires? You shouldn't need to be trimming that much with 32's. Check with Ian, he has 3" lift, 32's and an ARB. Same setup should mean same rubbing issues.

I can only imagine 32x12.5's having any chance of rubbing with a suspension lift. One of the RMXC's has 32's with stock suspension.

But I still don't understand how 32's are an issue at all. Many people are running them with ARB's, I'm running them with the stock front bumper.

hey craig I decided against the body lift for now and just went with 32 inch tires. I suspect some rubbing will occur when the suspension is really tested. Maybe I am crazy but these damn km's look real big in there. I had to trim the hell out of the plastic just to get them to stop rubbing at full turn. Even then at full turn and compressed I have a feeling I will lose my mud flaps again.

Mudflaps? I guess maybe I trimmed more than you, because I have nowhere to attach front mudflaps. I trimmed the whole lower piece flush.

Hmm oh sorry I meant the entire trim piece. Remember I ripped them both off at the first WESTX. I had them trimmed flush after that and I still had to trim even more when I got the new tires. I had to cut back the entire inside corner. I really need to take some pics.

i had my ARB trimmed at Skid Row to better clear my 32s. I bumped the tires a lot less on the ARB after having this done. we took out a pie slice shaped piece. about 1.5 - 2 inches on the bottom tapering up to the top. eric did a great job and most people don't even notice it. the best picture of this process i have seen is the one that Vikram made a LONG time ago. you might be able to find it on his site.
