1995 Buick Park Ave Electrical - Engine cutting off

Lately my 1995 Buck Park Ave's engine has been cutting out when I hit the brakes. It seems to be somewhat intermittent, though when it does it, it does it often (during that drive). Anyone have anything similar? Any fixes? Any suggestions?

I assume it restarts ok, no mention, if so try cleaning the throttle body and remove and clean the iac for starters.

Yeah, sorry, it does start right back up. I'll give that a try, thanks.

It almost seems like its a ground? I've had problems with that darn ground bar under the drivers side before, is there one of those connected to the brake lights?

Not like the one under the sill plate, but all lamps are, of course, grounded. Hitting the brakes just drops the engine to idle, also check the egr, they have been known to cause this also.

I'm no expert but i have read about a simular problem that was caused by a brake booster leaking vacumm. Suppose u could test that by disconnecting the vacumm line from the booster and blocking it off, if you still have the problem then its got to be electrical. I dont recommend driving to test with out the booster, you'll have a very hard time stoping the car. good luck

Again, some good suggestions here; however, this thread also exceeds our time frame allocated for posting in older threads. Please read our guidelines for Posting in Closed or Outdated Threads-PA
