small hole burned in rotor

I recently had a major tune up (plugs, dist. rotor, etc) About 150 miles after that, my Tahoe started running rough again. There was a very small hole burned in the new rotor. It was replaced and It runs fine again but I'm concerned that something caused it and it will happen again while on a road trip. Could the new dist. that i have cause that or is it more likely that i just had a defective new rotor? Thoughts?

Where was the hole?

The hole was on the bottom side, under the contact point. You could not see the hole from the top of the rotor. It was a pin hole.

What year and engine and mileage?
What kind of plugs and rotor used for tune up el cheap O or ac delco??
IF SPARK CAN NOT GO THREW THE DIST GOOD TO PLUGS IT WILL GO OUT SOME PLACE.

Check plug wires and plugs and dist cap.
Only use AC delco stuff.

Also check camshaft retard setting with a engine capable scanner.

It is a 98 Tahoe with 135,000 miles. I don't know if AC Delco parts were used or not. Also, I left out an important piece of info. When my Tahoe died and they found the hole in the rotor, my cat. converter was found to be clogged and it was also replaced. The "service engine" light had been on for several days and 02 sensors replaced but they were not the problem. The light remained on. I saw the reading on the analyzer: "cat. converter inefficient"

Make sure on the AC delco parts.
New cap and pulug wires?
Camshaft retart settings?
After repair always clear codes and drive and recheck for what comes back.

A cat code or O2 sensor code does not say replace them but check out and find out what set the code.

Throwing parts at it will only cost you money.

most likely the ignition/plug wires have high resistance or are open...
