Post What shop manuals do folks use for these vans?

I've been reading these forums for a long time, and they have helped me immensely. I've always wondered what manuals everyone is using to get their info and where they got them from. I have the two volume set from Helms, gmp/99-u-1&2 since my van is a 99.
As large as these books are though, there seem to be lots of little questions that come up that I can't find answers for. I thought it might help everyone if we had a post that listed all the various service information sources people use.

I'll start it off with the info on the Helms manuals. These can be purchased onliine from Helms direct at: http://www.helminc.com/. The cost is usually around $150-$200 per set. If you have an older car, you may not be able to order your year as they don't go back too far. I see them on ebay from time to time as well.

What else is out there?

Re: What shop manuals do folks use for these vans?

For the GM U Body vans there are Chiltons, Haynes, and Factory Service Manuals. I buy FSM for all my vehicles, and get them on eBay. I wait until I see a good price then bid on them. The most I've paid is under $30 for a set. You can also find the Chiltons and Haynes on eBay for a good price, ( be careful as I've seen them for $20 to $25 or under $10 shop around and compare so you don't pay too much. There are other online sources to purchase these manuals, or you can purchase them ( except the FSM) at many of your local auto parts stores, or even book stores.

EDIT: After submitting this post, I realized I forgot to mention other online sources for info such as Alldata, a subscription based service. Also this site www.mygmlink.com . Here you register your vehicle and can get an online version of your owners manual, plus online service and maintenance records, recall notices, and specific warranty information for your vehicle, including
automatic updates of your service history for dealer warranty service and
e-mail service reminders.
