Ok guys, I am not the savy type when it come to mechanics and mechanical ability.. what I need is a reliable car.. So my question is.. I am planning on having about 2000 bucks worth of service done to my passport since I am in love with it.. So I am gonna list what I am having done if you guys agree.. A full transmission service including a pan drop filter change and gasket replace with a cleaner ran through it, grease the slip youke ( spline from Honda) to stop the booming, tires- Bridgestones REVO at 600 or I found some Fusions zri for 320???? I know I need a new radiator for 138, and I really want your opinion on my axels needing replace for 686 bucks... they say iys 3.3 hours per side???? and shocks from ISUZU for 200 (with out electronic ride control) This Passport has 125k on it, my goal is for a car to get me through school (4 more years).. and I also travel to Charolotte and Atlanta often.. Also I was gonna ask about having all hoses and belts changed.. Last week I had all brakes and callipers replaced and the t belt and water pump replaced for 400 Bucks, So what I am asking here is ther anything else I need done? The car runs like a top, actually like a scallded dog! But I am in love with it and want to take care of its every need so I can have a car that will be bullet proof reliable for a couple years.. So what are your thoughts on this service I am about to have perforemed?

For the trans, I would drop the pan and change the filter and then top it off again. A cleaner at that miles may clean something that then makes the tranny slip.

Shocks from isuzu? check out the FAQ's and buy some Monroe's and take them to a shop to have them installed (I had my dealer install mine for 100 bucks).

If you haven't had the timing belt, tensor and water pump changed out that would be the first thing on my list with 125k on the ticker.

Do NOT flush the transmission. Just drop pan, replace filter and refill.

First, why are you replacing your CV axles, second, find someone else to do them. Preferably someone who isn't into ripping people off. The labor guide calls for 3.3 hours to do BOTH sides. I could stop for lunch and have them both done in less than 3 hours.

Like Amigo2k said, get Monroes, Gabrials or even Napa shocks. Dealer shocks aren't anything special.

Not a bad idea to have your belts and hoses replaced, but keep in mind some of those smaller heater hoses are quite difficult to get at. I hope you also had the tensioner replaced when you had the t-belt and water pump done.

Ditto..do not be putting a *cleaner* thru that tranny, it could do more harm then good.

I don't understand the need for new axles..more input here, has the truck been abused?

I'd highly recommend Revo tires over anything else you could put on that truck, they are FANTASTIC tires in all types of weather.

Look into oem KYB shocks - original equipment replacement, fairly cheap from Carquest.

I have 185k miles and 11yrs on my '97 Rodeo, she's running better then my 2 newer half the mileage trucks.
