1987 Camaro 2.8 Won't Start
I have a 1987 camaro 2.8 turns over, starts and runs about 10-20 seconds and then dies, (like the old mopars with a bad ballast resistor) it has a new cap-rotor-plugs-coolant sensor and a new distributor, it has 40 + psi fuel pressure. Any idea's. Also no codes
Thanks for any help Mike |

Re: 1987 Camaro 2.8 Won't Start
it sounds like you might have an electrical problem with a loose or corroded wire going to the distributor, coil or alternator...Check those wires carefully let us know if you were able to fix it please

Re: 1987 Camaro 2.8 Won't Start
A code 44 is mainly a lean condition caused by either a bad oxygen sensor, carburetor, fuel injector, vacuum leak, low fuel pressure, etc.. It could also be a poor electrical connection, open or short in curcuit, defective map sensor, defective ECM...
I would check the resistance at the fuel injectors to rule those out..I forget what the resistance values should be at or around but compare your readings. On the 2.8 I believe it had a cold start valve assembly to aid in start up as well. |
