Re: fuel filter

replace your Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor first. This sensor is used by the PCM for mixture alterations and your stock one is resin which cracks sending false data to the PCM. Your car has two sensors, you need to replace the one with the 2 wire connector

There is no switch, however there is a fuel relay in the fuse box under the hood and in the cabin behind the passenger side kick panel. remove one and start the car untill it shut off on its own.

The ignition coils are located on the front side of the transmission bell housing. Folow the wires from the top of the engine to the coil packs. You can clean the contacts to ensure good grounds and a strong spark.

Re: fuel filter

You want to REMOVE the fuel pump relay. This disables the fuel pump. Then run the engine until it dies on it's own. This burns the fuel left the the fuel rail and relieves the pressure so gasoline doesn't go spraying everywhere when you disconnect the lines.

If your coolant temp sensor is bad, it is necessary to replace it. It is critical for the computer to know the correct temperature of your engine in order for it to calculate proper injector pulse width or air fuel mixture and ignition timing as well as a bunch of other things. If it's not sending accurate readings, the ECM cannot properly control the engine. It is a cheap part and very easy to replace with a deep well 13mm socket. If you can do the fuel filter, the coolant temp sensor is way easier.

Sorry i dont have a video for the Fuel filter replacement for your car however i do have a video for '98 to '02. The fuel filter is NOT in the same nor is it in the same location as your car however, the first few seconds are how to shut off the pump and releave the pressure of the system so it does not spray everywhere like Catfuzz stated above.
