TS17 vs Alclad polished aluminum
I'm planning on building the Tamiya Sauber C9 and have a question regarding paint color. I was wondering if there is an alternative to the TS17 (gloss aluminum) that is called out by the instructions. Does Alclad polished aluminum resemble TS17, or is there a better color that more closely matches the silver color of the C9?

Alcad looks more like metal than paint and that is it's intended purpose, so i wouldn't recommend it on this model.

Polished aluminum is almost chromy, doesn't look like silver at all.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks. Would a clear coat over flat aluminum (XF16) look the same as TS17?

negative
XF16 has huge chunks of paint... your paint job will look flaky and unrealistic... |
