Master cylinder repair time

i was told by my new mechanic today that it would take about 3 hours to replace the master cylinder on my 98 windstar with traction controll.
When I called to a price for a part I was told it should take no more than an hour. Can anyone tell me who's correct? Thanks

another thing you can do is call around and ask for a price quote from several mechanics and ask them how long does it take to replace. This should give you a general idea of how long it takes.
