99 GA Idling High

I have a 99 GA, and I have recently had some issues. The car is idling very high once started or put in park, the car takes off quicker than usual while in drive. The braking seems like the pedal will not go down like it should. It seems to be sticking at certain mph like 55, its as if the cruise is on. One opinion was the vaccum. Anyone have any input or ideas ?

Re: 99 GA Idling High

Hey There! Just had the same problem with my 2000 GA GT. Pretty scary, huh? Anyways. . . When I would take my foot off the brake in drive the car would speed up to over 40 mph without even touching the gas! Put it in park and the RPM would stay close to 4000. Ended up being the throttle positioning sensor (TPS). Pretty easy fix and as I recall not overly expensive!
