Why 448?
Weird that they decided from the start to make 448 instead of 400 or 450.
A guess: 448 customer cars plus one for the Ferrari museum plus another one for the Pininfarina museum = 450 built And has anyone seen one with the standard wheels of the coupe? I like the car but not those wheels!

As you might know, Ferraris motto is always build one less than what you think you can sell or something similar to that.
I guess they thought they could sell 449 and build 448. I agree, the 3 pc. wheels are much better looking than the Maranello wheels.

Snowboarder is right. They thought they could sell about 450, so they made 2 less so the demand for the cars would be higher then the actual number built.

When you say 448, does that include the cars that go into the ferraris private galleries for reference, and the one that goes to the musem?

Why would they even need to produce an even number in the first place? 471 Would have been just fine, I don't see why they all need to be close to 50 all the time.

Apparently Ferrari planned on building 444 of the cars, but they found out that, in some Asian cultures, the number 4 is considered unlucky. So, they changed the number of cars to 448. I don't know why they chose the number 444 originally, though.
