Question A/C recharge questions

OK. So my a/c isn't cold and has been that way for the year or so that i have had my baby! I'm almost positive that it just needs to be recharged, so i bought a recharge kit and just need to know where to put it.

some info: 1997 tbird 130xxx mi heater works fans aswell

Is the valve here?

Or is it this little guy sticking up in the middle of the picture and if not what does it do/is it for?

Thanks Guys
Thomas

Re: A/C recharge questions

The port you want is the first one-(the low side port)- your recharge kit will only fit on it- the second one sticking up is the high side port- you use this to monitor high side pressure- but your refill kit does not contain this gage- the refill kit will not fit on this port- so unless you have a gage set (sold separately) you will not be using the second port. Be careful not to overcharge......

Re: A/C recharge questions

Thanks for the Reply,
ok so my recharge kit does have a guage.
Also the tube doesnt look like it will fit on the on in the first picture,
its rather larger, but im almost positive you would NEVER want to connect it
to the high side right?

Thanks for the info!
Thomas
