Mass Air Flow Sensor Hums
Good afternoon,
I have a 2000 Explorer and my Mass Air Flow Sensor is making a humming sound. I can disconnect it from the air intake hose and the sound stops and then I can reconnect it and the noise starts again. Have replaced the sensor and the noise went away for a couple of hours but returned again. Any ideas?????? Thanks in advance, Charlie |

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor Hums
Is the sound an electrical sound, or is it due to air passing through it? Does the sound change with engine speed? What happens to the sound if you just unplug the electrical connector from the MAF sensor? Of course unplugging (and removing) the MAF will likely set codes, but at least you'll know why they are there.
