Electric Window Motor

The electric window on the driver's door of my 1995 G20 is not working. You may not be able to answer the question since my van is Mark III customized, but how do I get to the motor? How do I take the door panel off? If I can fix it, I will, but I'm not going to pay someone to do it because of the age of the van. (The transmission was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago, and the engine got new heads 10,000 miles ago, so I have to drive some of the repair costs out of it. It has 112,000 miles on it.)

Re: Electric Window Motor

I'd get a $20 Chilton manual for your year. They cover things like door panel removal pretty well.

The door panel has to come off.
But first pull the switch and check for 12 volts to it and for the switch switching power and ground to the window motor.
If could be fuse or circuit breaker or bad switch or wiring to it.
Proper testing first.

Is it spring-loaded such that I can just pry it out?

Re: Electric Window Motor

The switch usually snaps in the door panel but also heck for a screw holding it in.
