Exclamation Lowering a 97 cavalier Z24 with Tokico struts & springs - Need Help for strut mounts

I recently got a suspension kit from EBAY, the Tokico set that includes complete struts and springs.. I had to get the mounts for it ... the rear ones work great, but the fronts look like the're missing something when you look at the OEM one,

My question is, is there anything special I need to do it all so i can have a proper ride? right now I put the OEM ones on the Tokico set but the front ones are making noise everytime I hit something small on the road.. there is a washer thing that holds the strut in place to the mount and its not sitting right where the strut mount sits/bolts on to the car?

can anyone help please..
Thanks,
Arbi

My tokicos work fine. No strange sounds or anything.

are you sure you have the springs in the grooves right?
are the springs the right way?
are all bolts tightened securely?

95-99 style mounts look like this installed properly

This is the monroe part number for the 2nd design (00-05)

2- piece design. Top plate and bearing

Together

Compared to 1st design

Both strut mount designs for these cars are crap, and now that your lowered plan on going through a set every 1-2 years. The ones in the picture there have been on my car for 3.5 years, but only saw 1,000 miles and they are shot. That suspension is going on my sunfire probably this weekend, and the Cavalier is getting the Tein SS with solid pillow ball mounts, which will never go bad. I'm sick of changing them already. This is set # 5 for my white sedan, the ones in the sunfire are shot too cause they are clunking now.

and before anyone asks, yes all that shit in the back ground is for the sedan.

Thanks for all the help everyone.. Iactualy took it to a suspension shop today and its all good now..

I FACKED UP Big time on it.. lol.. I forgot put the something on the strut before the mount .. it holds the strut arm in place on the mount... it was attached to the boot of it, so I didnt realize it and just took it off...

Now I have two lil dings on my hood where the strut poked it.. LIVE AND LEARN ..

Ill post pics up soon..

Thanks again for the fast replys!!

Get a hayes book for your car. I always get one when i buy a car. They really help, and make things easy. Its the best 20 buck you can spend on your car.
