1978 Ramcharger
Anyone know how many volts are supposed to be going into the ignition coil? and what does it mean if youre only getting 5?

At start up (cranking) you should have 12 volts to coil..
Running should be around 9 volts.. You my have a faulty ballast resistor or ECU.. Or even a loose or dirty connection & or ground.. Heres a Link to fix your problem.. once & for all..
