I recently got a 99 Grand Cherokee Limited with 100k on it. Everything seemed fine except I have a few issues that I cant figure out.
1. When I start my jeep the speakers kind of skip and pop for a few moments then everything is fine. It almost sounds like a cd is skipping every other word, but this happens when I have on the radio also. I am thinking maybe one of the Infinity amps may be going bad, but I am not sure. 2. I cant figure out my heater, it doesnt seem to work the way I would expect. Sometimes when I set it to the upper vents it comes out at the defroster vents and floor or some combo of. Its really random and sometimes it comes out of all three vents. I did a little searching and found that the jeeps have issues with the heater doors in the vents. Is this the same thing? 3. My AC seems to blow really cold sometimes but other times its just mediocre. Also my AC seems to have the same vent issues (makes sense since they are the same system lol). The weirdest thing yet is the other day I had the AC on and it was coming from the upper vents which is what I wanted. But the passenger side vent to the left of the airbag was blowing ridiculously hot air while the others were blowing nice cold air. I am kind of at a loss here, I really like my jeep but I want it to work! ![]() Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 99 JGC Heater, AC and Stereo issues.
1. A bad ground possibly, a problem with the amp/head unit, or voltage spikes from the charging system. I would turn off the radio before turning off the car and then back on after starting.
2. Sounds like a vacuum leak. 3. Blend doors, use the search with that phrase to find out more. |

Re: 99 JGC Heater, AC and Stereo issues.
Thanks, I will see what I can find with the Blend Doors search, as for the radio its not a big deal really I was just curious if it was a common thing and there was an easy fix. I am planning to eventually replace all the stereo stuff anyway so I will just live with it.
