Question 1986 GMC Transmission

I have a 1986 GMC Swap Transmission had a turbo 350 and change it to a 700r4, I'm having problem with Shifting get speed up to 25 mi before it shift out of first, and when it do it shift hard, and inorder to get it to shift from first to drive I would have to shift it manually, transmission is rebuild, I need help trying to adj it. i have a connector on the side the plug into the tranny, and the 350 also had the connector, I was woundering if Someone can tell me were to hook the connector to or Guid me to getting it to shift right. thanks In advance

The 700R4 uses a TV cable to control shifting. Was this adjusted properly?
