94 Grand Prix all of a sudden wont start
I have had this car for a little while and it sits in the driveway. I start it up once a week and take it out. I went to start it today and as it was about to start i stopped the ignition thinking it was going to catch as it almost started but stopped. So when I went to start it a second time it was just constantly turn over and never actually start. Sounds like it was flooded which i thought was weird. Waited a little while and still wont start. Never had this problem before. Ideas?

Re: 94 Grand Prix all of a sudden wont start
spray starting fluid in the throttle and see if it starts. If it starts for a second then you can narrow it down to a fuel issue. check the fuel pump relays/fuses to see if they are good. I would also make sure you have good gas in it, if it is really old gas that will also pose a problem .

Quote:
I would grab about 2+ gallons of the 91-93 octane or and add the small bottle of Lucas fuel additive in there and see if that helps. The additive will act as a fuel stabilizer and should help the bad fuel, if that is the issue.

Re: 94 Grand Prix all of a sudden wont start
put about 5 gallons in with some dry gas with no effect. I did however spray starter fluid into the intake and it starts right up but then dies after a couple secs like you said. Going to try and change the fuel filter hopefully thats just clogged up. checked the fuses to see if any are bad and all look fine. a little dusty but all of them are intact.

Re: 94 Grand Prix all of a sudden wont start
any idea where the fuel pump is on this 94. I hope its not in the tank! I replaced fuel filter and checked relays and fuses all fine and no change. So now its the fuel pump but not sure where its at.

Re: 94 Grand Prix all of a sudden wont start
indeed. what a pain mostly getting that thing back up in there with just me. The gas gauge sometimes jumps to full and then back to where its really at but that was happening before I took the tank out. But its running and lookin fine. Thanks for the help
