v10 baby!
xD call me crazy but my buddy has both a 3000gt and a dodge stealth for sale, however i have not been able to veiw them up close (due to distance problems) anywho! My dad up n just gave me a brand new v10 motor ~dont ask~
In a nutshell, would it be any and at all possible to fit that huge horse power monster into one of those two cars? {maybe a custom hood?} -although since they are both v6's i doubt there is any room left in it for this machine- Thanks all you stealth 3000 drivers! - who have seen how much room is in their hood bank |

Re: v10 baby!
How big is the V10? Is it the Viper's? Either way it would be next to impossible and if you have to ask if it can be done then you don't have the skills to do it. It would be an unbelievable amount of work with cutting things out, making custom parts, and custom fabrication almost everywhere.

Re: v10 baby!
A V6 barely fits sideways.
To put a V8 in you have to cut off the front end, make your own sub-frame, and cut the middle of the car out for the tranny. V10? Ha. I won't tell you its impossible, because nothing is...but I will tell you its stupid, and you have less than a 1% chance of getting it done.

Re: v10 baby!
Yes it is a Direct Bolt in. Just have to push the the RattleBearing out of the way.. Shouldn't be to hard..
Twizted and SL3000gt dont have a clue what there talking about.. Easy swap.. Would you want to keep it AWD? or go Rear wheel? |

Re: v10 baby!
ok, first off, if all you want is more power, there is a much easier and cheaper way to get it. Turbo upgrades use the stock engine block and can net as much as 800 horses.
The ONLY reason to even consider a 'forign' engine transplant on a 3/s is uniqueness, like if you are making an all-out show car. Even then, i would only recommend it if you are basically a mechanical genius, have a whole custom fabrication shop worth of tools, and an ass load of money to spend. If you meet all these qualifications, there is a guy on 3si who put a V8 into his 3/s. Get in touch with him for your questions. BTW are you talking viper v10? or a little 5L or something...because there aint no way you're getting a viper motor in one of these things, lol. Second, you asked about a "v10 motor" without informing anyone which "v10" motor you're talking about. I can name, off the top of my head, five different production V10 engines of the past decade or so (none of which would possibly fit in the engine bay of a 3000GT/Stealth). Third, and I'm askin', how did your father happen to have a "brand new v10 motor" just sitting around to give to his kid? |

Re: v10 baby!
anything is possible, but why?? the vr4 makes almost as much horsepower stock as any v10 i can think of off the lot, other than the SRT10...

Re: v10 baby!
there have been at least one or two people that have dropped 440's in these cars. But that's it. And I believe at least part of the front of the car was tube-framed? I may be mistaken.
Either way, these engines make enough power as it is with the stock blocks (re: 8 second passes, and "moderate" set-up's running 10's all day long). I really don't see why you'd want to just drop a v10 in there, just because you have it. Sell it, and buy some upgraded turbos and supporting mods. You'll be running faster, for a fraction of the cost, and 1/100th of the headache

Anything is possible with enough time and money. As many have already said, "but why?"

Once upon a time my dad... err step dad drove a viper ((not sure of year 06? no older than 00 though)) He sup'ed the hell out of it [limited knowledge of cars but] something to the pistons and rods, a custom supercharger system, something known as a intercooler? ~ cold air intake perhaps? anywho over $23,000 went into that doge the end result was a car that would do a wheelie when floored. He blew something up on the track one day and insurance was giving him a new engine when he got his old one fixed.. and well you can fill in the gaps i left in this story |

Re: v10 baby!
you're talking about over $100k worth of work. for the dimensions on that engine, you would need to legthen the front end of the car. Anyone who can pull this off had better enter it at SEMA, lol

In any case, a 6.8L V10 is a Ford truck engine. It produces about the same power as the stock 3000GT twin turbo 3.0L V6. |

Re: v10 baby!
Does anyone else smell bullshit?
Insurance wont replace a blown engine. Looks like I might have to do some IP checks.
