any idea how to polish trim?

I don't really know what the trim along the bottom of my caprice "and around the windshields" are made of. I think they're made of anodized aluminum maybe or something like that? Anyway, whatever i do or use to try and polish it, the foggy-ness keeps coming back.

Anodized aluminum. It will always have a 'dull' luster - it was this way from the factory.

the trim on my 86 at the base if the windshield that is on the trailing edge of the hood is a plasitic chrome peice that i shine up with a product that works very well. (it's a 2-4 x a year over 21 years ) it's called autosol http://www.thedetailingshop.com/en/e...e/autosul.html it also works on the rest of the crome and bright metal on autos.

Nope, not stainless. The only stainless on these cars was in the hubcaps, as well as the 'chrome' around the window gaskets. The trim is all aluminum.

Yeah my bumpers are all peeling and everything, not even worth cleaning those. Theres some company i can't remember the name of but if you give them your old bumpers they'll exchange them for a new pair for a cheap price.

if the bumpers are still solid in my area you can get them chromed ...this is cheaper and the finish is thicker..than new..recycled

Peeling chrome bumpers... Buick Regal's were notorious for that. Actually now that I think of it, my family had an old regal back in the day. The rear bumper was so badly rotted out that in some spots all that was left was the chrome but no steel, still holding a wobbly shape of the bumper.

on my 2000 silverado i removed the bumpers because they had no rust protection on the back side,,,lots of rust.. cleaned , primed , and rust proof with brush on thick undercoating and after a few years still look good..during the winter i spray chrome with silicone and there are no pits..
