oil consumption

98 z-71 148500 miles starting to use oil between changes. more than one quart low after 3,8oo mile between oil changes. no signs of leaking under truck in the garage floor. any ideas.and inexpensive fix's?

Might just be using it in the higher mileage engine, like priton ring blow by, or through the oily air coming out of your valve cover PCV valve and getting recirculated. Just some thoughts. Might want to try some high mileage oil with some additives in it for seals and things like that.

thanks my next oil change i will try the high milaege oil and some additive, hope it will help
