Re: overdrive problem

Where is the end clutch, is it in the transmission, I hope not. And how would I go about fixing it?

It is in the transmission. Its fixable. I don't know the process but if Hans posts up I am sure he can help you on this one.

Re: overdrive problem

replacement guide
http://www.plymouthlaser.com/ec.htm

if it is indeed the end clutch, which is the most common problem for losing overdrive, best place to buy a replacement is from www.importperformancetrans.com, its around $80

if you have a tranny shop replace it for you, your looking at around $150-200 in labor.

Re: overdrive problem

How could you tell it wasn't going into OD? Were the rpms not dropping when cruising? In 5th gear my '92 SL at 60 mph is around 2,500 rpm, which I thought was kind of high but I'm not used to how this car operates yet so I wasn't sure.
