2003 Envoy Display Pannel Problem

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy, that is not allowing the display pannel to work. The needles for the gas, speed, ect are staying at the bottom as if the vehica is not even on. Sometimes when I start the vehical it will work but 90% of the time it wont. I have replaced all the fuses and still wont work. There is also a small grinding noise in the dash but it is a faint noise. Any help is apperciated.

Re: 2003 Envoy Display Pannel Problem

Try tapping the dash above the cluster see if anything happens, if not it looks like it may be bad. This was a somewhat common problem, but usually not all the gages were lost. This is tied in with the bcm also.

Re: 2003 Envoy Display Pannel Problem

Well I took your advice.. but I didnt tap the top of the dash above the pannel i smacked it hard lol.. Its working fine now... Figure that. So beating inadamit object can work.. WHo would have thunk it.. but in all seriousness if this stopped the problem what was the problem because it may stop working again and I rather permentaly fix it verses beating it.

If the connections at the cluster are ok, then the it will happen again and a reman/exchange unit will be required.
